METHEL, November 12. The Anglo-American steamer "Cheyears,” with a cargo of oll, has been refloated and is being towed towards Leith. She is leaking badly, and will have to go into dry dock.
FIRST NEWS OF DISASTERS
- KARLIER.
The wireless station at Cullercoats reports an Anglo-American Oil Company's steamer of 4,987 tons ashore in Latitude 56.12 North, Longitude.2.46 West. It requires assistance immediately.
The steamer is the "Cheyenne. She is ashore. on the rocks off St. Monans practically high and dry, with her rudder post goas and holed in several places. Tags are standing by.
[Note: Methil is av lage on the North shore of the Firth of Forth 9 miles S. E. by E. of Falkland, on the N. B. R. The tidal harbour,, 21⁄2 acres in extent, has a depth at entrance at ordinary spring tides of 23 ft. at high water and 5 ft at low; there is no bar. The N. B. R. dock covers 44 acres, has an entrance 50 feet wide, with a depth over sill at high water ordinary spring tides of 23 ft., ordinary neap tides 19.ft).

PLANS OF AVIATORS. When the fight was first proposed, the Nether lands Government issued the following statement. The aeroplane, Fokker" of the well-known type that is used on the route between Amsterdam and London, will be in charge of the aviator A. N. J. van der Hoop, who will be assisted by another pilot and a mechanic.
The flight will be made in dally distances of about 1,000 K.M. (625 miles), the total distance to be covered being about 15,000-K. M. (9370 miles),
The following route will be taken: Amsterdam (aerodrome "Schiphol "). Prague, "Belgrade, Constantinople, Angora, Aleppo, Baghdad, Basra, Bushire, Bandar Abbas, Chabar, Karachi, Multan, Ambala, Allahabad, Calcutta, Akyab, Rangoon, Moulmein, Bangkok, Sengora, Straits Settlements, Medan, Padang, Batavia. ⠀

A wireless message from Amunsden's vessel, the s.s. "Maud,' states she has been obliged to return to Bear Island. The message adds that the vessel has sprung slightly aleak and exhausted her supply of lubricating oil.
