FAMOUS PERTH HILL FOR
HIS NATIVE CITY.
Kinnoull H, a famous land- mark which overlooks the city of Perth and commande a view of the Tay Valley, was presented on September 10 to his native city by Lord Dewar, Before the ceremony, Lord Dewar was entertained to lunch at the Town Hall, after which the magistrates and town councillors motored to Kinnoull Hall, where the presentation was witnessed by a huge crowd.
In handing to the Lord Provost the deed of trust in favour of the town, Lord Dewar said that long before he had ceased to crack nuts with his teeth he had left his native city; but in the flame of youth be, with others, capered gally up and down-Kinnoult Hill He had been round the world more than once and had witnessed most of nature's outstanding beauty spots, but in the words of Horace "This corner of the world has smiles for me beyond all other places." At the reception in the City Hall Lord Dewar was presented by the city with an old George III. silver salver, on which were engraved the city arms, a view of Kinnoull Hill, and facsimile signatures of the Lord Provost, magistrates, and councillors....

The death has occurred at Bellfield, Dalkeith, of Mr. Peter Stewart, who was well known
throughout the country for a loyal Scot.
