A group of pictures taken when the American world aviators reached Boston. The 'planes in squadron formation are. led by Lieutenant Lowell Smith; with Lieutenant Leigh Wade and Lieutenant Eric Nelson following them. Lieutenant Wade rejoined the party at Pictou. The camera caught Lieutenant Smith's plane just as it touched the water in Boston Bay. A few minutes later the fliers signed the log to mark their first official stop on United States soil. Lieutenant SmithTM hins grasped the pen, while to his right are Wade and Nelson.

For thirty-seven years Nicolo Palermé, now 71, spent his life
in a tiny cell in an Italian prison, condemned to life imprisonment for murder. Then came a royal pardon for good behaviour. But the years he had spent in a cell had, made him a creature of habit. He could not sleep in a bed, nor in a room with fresh air. In the celler of his cobbler's shop, in a poorly ventilated corner, he constructed a replica of his cell, with its hard bunk, on which he sleeps.
The nautical engineer of the Hygirographic Office, is pointing out the track taken by the derelict "Governor Parr,” lumber laden schooner that has been adrift for a year in the North Atlantic, a menace to navigation. She was deserted by her crew in a gale off the coast of Nova Scotia and was last seen off the coast of Portugal. The black dots mark her position at times when she was reported by other vessels, and the black line connecting them shows the general direction she has followed.
