* [By Argus.] -On Saturday afternoon, the wea- ther was ideal for the opening day` of the Fifth Extra Meeting, held at Happy Valley under the auspices of the Hongkong Jockey Club.
The going, after Friday's 'steady rain, was distinctly on the Blow side, but with the exception of Cottongrass' victory in the first race and Silverleaf's success in the "seller" and Roman Farrot's defeat of Grey Dragon in the last race, the betting indications work- ed out according to the public's idea of form.
