We have had a strong market during the week with rising prices In most stocks, but at the close the tone is slightly easier, with more disposition to sell, no doubt due to profit taking.
The Shanghai market is steady with a certain amount of business done.
The following are the principal alterations since last week:-
Hongkong Banks: Have cased off during the week, closing with sellers at $1,185.
Unions: Continue firm and could probably be placed at $238. Hotels Have again been the medium of considerable business towards the latter part of the week at $2234 to $23 for December for Old. New shares being more or less neglected.

Hongkong Lands-Firmed up to a buying rate of $120 without inducing sellers.
Humphreys: Are slightly easier and have come to business at $22%
Cements:-Have been up and down and a large numberof shares have changed hands, but at the close are barely steady with sellers at $23 for Combined shares.
Kowloon Wharves --Have also been up and down, and after being done as high as $214, close with sellers and sales at $207, buyers offering $205.

It is a story of faith and love and yearning for happiness that is thoroughly human from beginning to end. The orphans are played by Gareth Hughes and Bessie Love, who make the characters so lovable and so pitiful that there is a constant tug at the heart strings.
