Lord Farmoor emphasised the Government's solemn protest before the League at the intentional flagrant violation of the Treaty. Meanwhile, he stated, the British authorities at Iraq had been authorized to take all necessary action to prevent invasion and the infiltration of Turkish forces of a nature to entall serious unrest and bloodshed.

Fethi Bey (Turkey), who followed. Lord Parmoor, disputed the British view as regards the frontier, declaring it was assumed that the fate of Mosul had already been decided in favour of Britain, which Turkey disputed.
