PET MONKEY'S CAREER.

HERO OF A CHAPTER OF

MISADVENTURES.

The tale of a monkey's amazing exploits during six months of crowded life was told at Aberdeen when Samuel Furneaux was Ened 408. for falling to observe an orderi of the Court to get rid of his pet.

In November 1923 the monkey broke loose from a backyard, and, climbing a wall, entered a school playground. It did not enter into 'the children's frolics, however, but chased a number of girls, causing them to run helter-skelter for safety.

Later the monkey entered a pawnshop by à window during the night. When the shop was opened in the morning an assistant was terrified to see the animal scamper- ing wildly over' the shelves and scattering the parcels about. It had torn the wrapping of some of these parcels and chewed the Tabels off others.

Again it escaped, and had a glorious spell of mischief-making.

Its adventures included

Jumping upon a fruit cart Throwing fruit at passers-by. Upsetting a crate of bananas. Entering a bus and alarming the passengers,

Clutching a girl's basket and biting her face.

The owner tnformed the Court that he had disposed of his pet.
