Crities, however, are convinced that subsequent audiences will be less patient. While agreeing that "Saint Toan" is the most interest ing play yet written by Mr. Shaw, they are nositive that it will prove the long for casual playgoers.

The authors of this melange have called it "The Nine O'Clock Revue." Actually it com- menced promptly at 9.16 p.m. and finished before midnight. Through it all there was not a dull moment. Salisbury is the mainspring, but his colleagues are shall we say the oil to the mainspring. Dorothy James is back again. We miss her songs at the piano, but appre- ciate all the hard work she puts in. Mavis French we think is not exactly a stranger: Her voice is sweet and rings clear. Olive Turner is a dashing comedienne and won the hearts of all. Ernest Melvin and Eila Cameron dance as to the manner born. George Curzon is the tall man of the party. He is good. So also is the gentleman whose name does not figure on the programme but whose singing of good songs made a direct appeal. Amazing and amusing skits were offered, whilst Salisbury gave one of his chorus songs" William the Konk." The audience was big and big, in its appreciation. The wel come was most cordial. The Com- pany is well served by a most competent pianist-Mr. H. Bayn- ton-Power. To-night the Revue will be repeated.
