LONDON, February 6. Hsin-chu and Baron Chino Hayashi were the principal guests at a dinner given by the London Union of Chinese Students on the occasion of Chinese New Year. Baron Hayashi in his speech referred feelingly to the passing Feb. 20.-U.S.S.B. of ex-President Woodrow Wilson, who had worked for the welfare Fob 8-0.8.K. of both China and Japan. He said that China was still unable-to settle down but that patience was required. It must be remember- ed, he said, how many past revolutions there had been in China.
Chaq Hsin-chu expressed the hope that Japan would soon recover from her terrible visitation.

The tide-table given balow has boon compiled as the National Almasso Ofoe in London from the result of the analysis of observation, taken by means of an automatio lde-recording machine in the Wator Pollon Basin at Taim Aba Trai during the years 1008-0.
The care of the table sorresponds with the zero of the sounding in the Admiralty Chast, which has been found to be 4 feet
inches below mean 100-level, To obtaly the depth of water on the ilde gangs at the Victoria Naval Yard add & fed 4 inches, and on the gange at Lamont/Dook, Aberdeen, add 10 feet inghts to the height given in the table.
