The useful work done for the mainland community by the Kowloon Residents' Association last year, is clearly manifest from the Committee's annual report.

In presenting its report the Committee feels it cau justly lay claim to a successful year of useful endeavour on behalf of Kowloon residents. Association's member ship at the beginning of the year stood at 242 and closed at 233, of whom 63 joined during the year. The accounts show a cash balance in hand at the close of the year of $24.84.

The following precis summarises the work for the year, the full correspondence on each subject being given in the appendices to the report:

Typhoon Signals. "Owing the great, inconvenience)

to Kowloon residents caused through having to go to the ferry pier during typhoon weather before they are able to ascertain whether the ferry services are running or not, the Association made a recommendation to the Government that some special distinguishing signal might be hoisted at various points on the Peninsula.
