Though the morning hold but a wan promise of later sunshine the weather brightened up sufficiently yesterday afternoon to ensure the completo success of the children's sports held yesterday afternoon at Kidd, 3. the Kowloon Cricket Club. Every year the members of the KC.C. entertain the youngsters of the peninsula in this fashion and it has become a red-letter event of the year in the juvenile calendar.

Prominent members of the club plcturesquely camouflaged worked with a will yesterday afternoon to give the little folk the time of their lives and that they succeeded there can be no doubting. Cocoanut shies there were, "and a chute and a "Flying Dutchman" and races of all sorts for all sorts of ages. Messrs. T. E. Jones, H. D. Ima, R. E. Nicholls, C. Burford and E. Houther were among the hardest tollers yesterday afternoon while good work behind the scenes

In

the matter of decorating, erecting sideshows and general organising had already been putin by Messrs. F. Jenner, A. W. E. Davidson, J. Cornley and the hon. secretary, Mr. S. E. Green. Towards the end of the afternoon His Excellency the Governor ar- rived with Lady Stubbs, who later presented the prizes. The band of the "East Surreys was present and altogether it was, for old as well as young, a most enjoyable..... afternoon.
