M.C.L. ENTERTAINMENT.

On Saturday night the Kowloon Dock Branch of the M.C.L, gove their second showing of "The Rafahpore." The performers ap- peared to feel more confident than on the previous occasion and

O everyone seemed to be doing their best to give the audience a really pleasant evening. The house was nearly full and showed its on- thusiasm as well as its apprecia- tion by hearty and repeated applause, Miss Doris Puncheon as Miss Neal O'Neal, the Major's adopted daughter, played her part finely and showed some really good vocal talent in her singing. The second act when Electra, Goddess of Light, appears, is O perhaps the most charming part of the play, seeing the tiny mites, coming in as faries, and looking | so cute. The part of Electra was ably played by Miss Pearl Ogilvie, { The chorus was good. and their Victorian dance and dresses, looked charming, as was the two other dances given by younger members. SERGEANT HALLAM

INJURED.

Sergeant H. W. Hallam of the 100 Police Force met with an accident whilst shooting out at Ping Shan, In the-New-Territories-on-Saturday being shot by his ccolic, with a 4 sporting rifle, while crossing a 8 stream. When examined

0 hospital, it was found that a number 0 of pellets had entered his rightside 5 and arm; his condition is not serious and he is not expected to be detained in hospital for more than a fortnight.

He was on what is described as the Lin Tak. Co's bund, when he handed over the rifle to the ser 10 vant. Somehow the trigger was accidently pulled and Sergeant Hallam was shot. The coolie at once ran away and the sergeant had to make his way, unaided, to the Pingshan station, about a mile away. There he was attended to and then taken to hospital:
