After giving--serious-warning to a Roman Catholic priest, Sir Henry Duke, in the Divorce Court, decided that a marriage" to save a girl from the shipwreck of her morals and faith" was not legally valid,

The case was one in which Cicely Mary Percival of Earl's terrace, W. petitioned for a restitution decree against Mr. Horace A. B. Percival. There was no defence.

GETTING TOGETHER.

CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES

IN CHINA. E

Co-operative societies in China are mainly organised by consumers or for financial purposes. It is doubtful if there are any producers societies on the model of those abroad, says the Chinese Economic Bulletin.

Father Grogan said when he was an assistant priest at St. Mary's Church, Halifax, the woman came to him and said she wanted to get married.

There was no time to obtain a special licence to keep her from shipwreck of her morals and faith, said Father Grogan, and he thought the only thing to do was to marry

Father Grogan said that he was not an authorised person, and no person authorised by English law was there.
