FLOODS IN ITALY:

THREE COMMUNES DISAPPEAR.

BERGAMO, December 2 Three communes have disappeared. The floods released a dam and as a result of the disaster five power stations were destroyed and six hundred lives lost. The damage is estimated at several hundred million lire. A vast area of rich ogricultural land has been desolated. The disaster was due to amnormal rains. The river Dezzo overflowed and simultaneously the dam burst. The flood is think | feet in depth. Rescue operations are very difficult owing to the interruption of all means of com- munication.
