NEW AMENDING BILL.
THE CHINA MAIL,
In the current issue of the Govørn- | ment Gazette is published a draft- bill which it is proposed to in- troduce into the Legislative Council on December 13, for amending the Companies Ordinance 1911.
The objects and reasons of the measure are given by the Attorney General as follows

sound of the official English name of the company. It is not quite clear that the term Chinese name, does include such cases, though it probably does. It is desirable to | clear up any doubt which exists on the sub-section, and clause 2 in the bill proposes to resolve this doubt by making the requirement of the sub-section apply only to a trans- literation or translation of the official English name, of the com- Of course what has been called the official English name) may consist wholly or in part of Chinese words in an English trans-: literation.
