ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual Meeting of the Indian Recreation Club was held Jast evening at the Clubhouse, Sookunpoo Valley, Mr. U. Rumjahn presiding. In moving the adoption of the report and accounts, the Chairman commented on the affairs of the past year and remarked that it was very creditable to the Club in winning the Hongkong Tennis League, Senior Division, for the second time in succession without incurring a defeat and also in win- ning the Hongkong Cricket League, Seconti Division in the

was held on the 5th August last. The Commodore and Mrs. H. E. Grace-honoured the Club with their presence and Mrs. - Grace very kindly distributed the shields and prizes won by us dur ing the year. He congratulated) the Club on having laid a new bowling green, as well as some tennis courts, for which thanks are due to Mr. J.H.N. Mody, Mr.H.M. H. Nemazee and the members who subscribed for the cost of them. On! the past year's working, a surplus of $137.86. was shown, as against a deficit of $313.09 in the previous | year. The report and accounts) were adopted.
The following were elected officers for the ensuing year :---
President. Mr. J. H`N. Mody; Hon. Sec and Treas. Mr. D. Rum jaln; 1st XI Cricket, Captain, Mr. A. el Arculli, Vice-captain Mr. S. H. Ismail; and 2nd XI Cricket Cap- tain, Mr. D. Rámjahn, Vice-captain Mr. A.H.M. Samy: Baseball Cap- tain, Mr. A. A. Rumjahn, Vice- captain, Mr. J. S. Curreem; Lawn Bowls Captain, Mr. U, M. Omar.
Committee:-Messrs F. Z. Ab- basy, Juman Ali, A. el Arculli, Bishen Singh, N. M. Bux, A. L Fazalbhoy, S. Ismail, S. E. Ismail, Mohinder Singh, Nawab Khan, U. M. Omar, M. A. Razack, A. H Rumjelm, U. Runjahn and A. A. Samy.
On the proposition of Mr. S. E. Ismail, Messrs M. Nemazee and U. Rimjahn were elected Vice-presi- dents of the Club. As the con- stitution of the Committee provid- ed for one President only, this re solution requires confirmation at an Extraordinary Meeting which will j have to be called for the purpose.
Before the conclusion of the -business Mr. S."E. Ismail spokej re- ferfing the honour done to the Club by the Interpon Selection Committee in selecting three of its members, namely, S. A. Omar, and H. D. Rumjahn, to represent the Colony at Shanghai, and the Rumjahn family ought to be proúd of the selection. The best wishes of the members go with them and we hope to see them return to Hongkong with the northern trophy.
Mr. A. H. Abbas then addressed the meeting. thanking Mr. U. Rumjahn for conducting the meet ing, the out-going Committee for the work they have done and the Hon. Secretary Mr. D. Rusijahn for his arduous duties and for so ably managing the affairs of the Glub during the past year.

1-That it is esgadent to effect an amalgatation of this Com- pany with The Thongkong Hotel Company, Limited, whose Registored ee is simte at Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong and with a view thereto that this Company be wound up voluntarily and that Walter John Hawker, of Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding up with full power-to-ilelegate all or any of dis duties as he in his absolute discretion may think fit for the purpose of appointing a person or Corporation in Shanglui in the Republic of China to act in conjunction with bim and under his control and as his Agent for the purpose of carrying out Shelf liquidation.
