to ask the Boilermakers' Union tor a meeting to discuss the overtime -and-night shifts question over which
the boilermakers are on strike.

Dr. Charles Henry Preston, aged 55, a Sale (Cheshire) dentist, the author of several technical books, lecturer at Manchester and a University has been found drown- ed in about 2ft of water in Baguley Brook, near Sale.
A high-speed motor boat was
caught by stevedores as it, headed for the pier in the Hudson River where the "Berengaria " was berthed. A dead man, with a bullet in his
chest, was found lying across the steering- wheel, his weight steadying the rudder. He had apparently been dead many hours, and is believed to have been the victim of a rum= runners' fight.
