When arrested on a charge of bigamy, John Robert Jones, aged sixty-two, said he had not seen his wife for thirty years
She now appeared, however, at Westminster, and told the magi strate that her husband, was such a brute and so lazy that she had to. go out to work and keep him, and that she could not put up with it.
He knew where she lived, and. once called at the house and asked her to go out with him.
Last August she again saw him and told him she had heard he had married another woman, and he replied, "No such thing."
Alice Webber, a widow, said she went through the marriage ceremony with Jones in January, 1922, and he left her nine weeks Lago.
She told him she had heard he been previously married, and he said it was not true.
