Soviet Russia, which exeemed Monsignor Budkewicz, Vicar General of the Roman Catholic Church in Russia, threatens to execute His Holiness Tik on, Patriarch of All Russia, head of the Greek Catholic Church. The trial of the Patriarch had been set for April 10, b was postponed when the European Powers notified the Soviet they would break off all negotiations with Russia if the Patriarch were con- demned to death. The charges against Tikhon are similar to those against the Roman Catholic clergy.
