China,

Two Great Things of Chiria. The great wall of China stands to-day a memorial to its builders, Long before they commenced their task, beer was the favour- ite beverage of mankind; likely enough it often quenched their thirst. To-day it still holds pride of place the world over. Ofall heers none compares with"Amstel." After travelling thousands of miles it arrives cool, clear and sparkling, ready, to quench your driest thirst.

Don't merely order "a beer." "Buy"AMSTEL" beer, a little trouble giving a great reward.

At the Hongkong Hotel at last appeared the ideal League of Nations dreamt of by Wilson: Indian' nabebs drinking to, the bealth of Chinese mandarine, aye, even welcoming pirates in their midat, French chefs flirting with maui taxis and demure: amaks, an Irish piper dancing with a Royal gusid, a Persian Queen, Spanish grandees and Carmona were there merry making in perfect harmony.

Among the most striking costumes ware a Chinese lantern of pink lame, Queen Esther, a much bejewelled and a dignified Raiak-not forgetting the dainty fairy who, a little time back delighted lovers of the Bard of Avon, Tims and space-fail us to describe the moonlit and dark nights, the stistocratic marque and ducterdes some of whom would make good Dresden figuras, with an attendant train of Harlequins, Pierrota, Colom tance and Mephistophe of Chinese costumes setting for this time joking
