This was one of the statements read by the Woolwich Coroner from s letter written by Ivy Althea Kate, Bennett, a single woman, aged twen- ty-viue, employed as a cook in Baker street, W., on whom an. inquest was beld recently. She committed sui cids after being given up by her lover. They had been courling for three and a-half years.
In another letter Bonnett asked the coroner "not to hurt my lover too much." The coroner, after dearing the evidence, observed: I shall not say anything to the lover, because I do not think it worth while.

Mariah Wiedom. of Camross-streat, Plumstead, said: Miss Bennett bad kept company with my son. She was a highly-strong girl, and as I did not like her ways. I did not with her to come to the house, she was brought to the house ill. I took her in, but almost immediately, she went out to the back of the house; and I did rot see her again. I was kind to the girl, although we did not speak.
