Cause of rash act: For many years my dear wifa bas supported the home and myself entirely by her owa carnings. I have for over 10 years invented and sold noveltica, Quite unknown to my wife I have entored into business transactions, shares, options, etc., and have ended disastrously. Unknown to her I have borrowed large sums of money for which I have paid big interest. This will prove my financial insolvency. My wife, not knowing anything of my business, cannot carry out my obligations.
* Although I na sane, I feel I am going mad. Something in my brain has snapped and the fear of madocsa ie fast approaching. God have mercy on me.
In another letter Mr. Anderson wrote: Tomorrow, September 21, I was to have received £200 under sn agreement to purchase a chemical invention of mine ard a further sum
later. I have been informed that the agreement is cancelled owing to my invention having been

"Bobby" Spencer, one of the most popular of Liberal Whips, hai. famous for his big collars which encircled his neck without a break -and-which-be-was reputed to bave invented, will be remembered per- baps best of all for an unconscious bon mot which convulsed the House of Commons with laughter.
