Application for an order to prasumo the death of Tan Chowkeo was made by Mr. W. H. Drummond to the Anting Chief Justice, the Hon. Mr. P. J. Sproule, in the Supreme Court at
Singapore Mr. Drummond stated
that Chow Kee was a passenger on the steamer "Hong Mol" which left Singapore ou February 23, 1921, and was wrecked between Hongliong and Swatow on March 3.
His Lordship said there was no evidence in apport of the application that the man had not been heard of or that bo was not in Singapore aften- ding to his business.
Mr. Drummond stated that bis name did vot appear in the list of our vivors obtained from the mana ger of the Company.
Hie Lordship said it was quite easy to say that a number of boats put into Swatow and a list of occupants was appended, but to say that nobody except those were eaved was not con- vincing. The evidence was it sufficient
