Eleuterio Santos, ex-Assistant Chief of the foreign department of the Philippins National Bank has been sentenced to cight. years' imprisonment for defrauding the Bank through the purchase and sale of German marks, It was alleged that. Santes purchased 100,000 German marks with the Banks' money and then sold the marks to the bank at a higher price, re- faining the difference.
