REPARATIONS.
ANOTHER ALLIED CONFERENCE.
PARIS, September
The press statement cabled earlier that aner conference is likely is confirmed by an announcement issued after the Cabinet Conncil presided over by M. Millerand to-day at which M. Poincare explained the foreign situation. The Cabinet agreed that as a mor- atorium bas net been accorded to Germany it togid only take cognizance of the decision of the Reparations Commission. The Cabinet decided to reserve liberty of action as regards forthcoming German paymenta vil the conditions imposed were carried out as Belgium ho was entitled to receive the whole of the payments had not merely accepted but proposed the scheme adopted by the Commission. The Cabinet, however, decided to insist on a meeting as soon as possible of a conference of all the allies to consider the whole question of in- ter-allied debts and reparations.
BERLIN PRESS RELIEVED.
BERLIN, September 1.
With the exception of the newspapers of the ex- treme Right, which declare that the Reparations Com mission's decision is unacceptable, the Press is generally relieved that time has been gained and the situslipn somewhat alleviated though the extent of the alleviation and Germany's acceptance depend on the guarantees demanded by Belgium.
It is announced that owing to the serious political situation and the outbreak of food troubles Herr Richter, prefect of police in Berlin has cancelled his visit to the international congress of police chiefs in New York.

LONDON, September 1. That the Turks ar rapidly advancing in Asia Minar appears from a Greek communiqué which declares that violent enemy infantry and artillery attacks on the Fakhishehr front were repaised. Enemy attempts to cat off railway communication with Uchak failed. It is noteworthy that Ushak is seventy miles west of Afiunkarabiszar. The communiqué adds that the great battle which started on August 28 continued on August 29 and 30 with varying intensity. The Greeks in the region of Ulnjak and Tulubanar retired before powerful pressure. Smyrna reports that heavy fighting continues at Tolubunar and West of Alankarahisar. Greak reinforcements are hurrying up to meet the attacks of
large Kemalist forces well-equipped with heavy artillery and aircraft. The newspapers in Athens state that the King will shortly proeide at a council of war to examine the situation.
