This morning reports began to filler through of a disastrous of typhoon at Swatow, Do'ails, owing to the break. down of communications, are very mearre but extensive damage to that port is indicated. The Tung Shing and the Shan Tung are known to be ashore, but at time of writing informa tion is lacking as to their condition.

The Tuog Shing. belonging to the Indo China Sream Navigation Co., is a steel ateamer and was built in 1903 by Messre. Wigham Richardson and Co. of Nowcastlo. Her gross tonnage is 1809 tons. Capt. Bateman is in cem. mand.
