MAIL BOAT ROBBERIES.
AIX EN PROVENCE, July 23, The trial at the Assire Court of nine Georgian Pirates, charged with robbing passengers on the French mail boat "Souirah" in the Black Fes in May 1930, has resulted in four being sentapced to ten years' imprison- mant and the others being acquitted. The proceedings was very laborious as the accused spoke only indifferent Russian and no French. One maintained that he was an officer in the British saret service. The others de- clared that their only object was to tob, a rich Persian aboard. It transpired that the robbers did not inter- fere with the property of passengers whom they believ ad belong to the proletariat. One of the robbers who was a bit of a dandy, kissed the hands of lady pas--- enger and stole their scent.
