Answering the Chief Justice debtor said he was the owner of the firm of Beaumont & Co.

In the first year rice did not rise much and you did a modest business -Yes.

About March or April 1919. rice began to boom considerably and you did a large business?—Yes.

Reenming his examination the Official Receiver questioned debtor as to his actions in Hongkong on his return. Debtor said he tried to get ssistance here but failing that he went to Shanghai. He wanted some body to come in either as a partner or to pat up a loan.
