AUSTRIA'S SORRY PLIGHT.

POLITICAL TROUBLES.

UNITAIN A FRIEND IN NEED.

VIENNA, January 27,

The situation has been further complicated by the resignation of the Government.

The acuteness of the problem is engaging the attention of the British Government which is understood to be arranging a £2,500,000 loan pending the meeting of the Genoa Confernce.

CABINET CRISIS SOLVED.

VIENNA, January 27. The political crisis has been solved by the Schober Cabinet resuming ffice with some shuffling of portfol os.

VIENNA, January 28. Schober's re-election was due to combination of the Christian Socialists and easants against the Social Democrats and pan-Germazs, following a brated lebate in the Assembly on the ratification of the treaty mentioned on Dec- umber 21. It was the pan-Germans' fear that the treaty would lead to a ederation of Danube states under the leadership of tse Czechs, thus hamper- ng eventual Austro-German union that caused the cabinet crisis.

13 London cable dated December 21 stated: An important change in Ruropan politics has been effected by an agreement concluded between Austria and Czecbo-Slovakia at Prague on December 16 marking the entry Austria into the little entente. The terms of the treaty ware read to the National Council at Vienna to-day. Both states are mutually pledged to xecute the St. Germain and Trianon peace treaties and to support each ther politically and diplomatically with a view to maintaining the peace of Enrope and preventing the restoration of the old regime.]
