CHILDREN'S CORNER.
THE THERMOS FLASK.
Two httle fairies, called Look-About and Know All, as their names telf
you, always liked to know everything
that was happening.
They were not only interested in the doings of their own folk but also in those of mortals.
These fairies lived together in a wood, near to a big house, and of course they knew the people to whom it belonged and spent suuch of their time there.
One day everyone seemed to be and specially busy. Look-About Know All peeped through the nursery window and saw the children collec ting their toys and spades and buckets, while the nurse was packing them in a big box. In the bedrooms it was the same. Maids were folding clothes and everywhere there were preparations for a journey.
"Come down to the kitchen," whispered Look-About, and be aud his brother took bands and crept down the steep staire. If only the children had known that fairies were near by how pleased they would have been! But they were much too busy to notice anything.
Down in the kitchen Sarah, the cook, was cutting piles of sandwiches and doing them up neatly in grease proof paper. She soon finished and then she fetched a bug Thermos flask from the pantry and filled it with tua.
What a lag bottie," muttered Look About, who had never seen our before and just then Sarah called out to the kitchan-maid Quick Ann,

My new shoes," cried Know All "No use to me," replied the witch," your feet are too small."
"My set of oak leaf baudkerchief"," said Look-About.
"Thank you but I never have a cold," the witch answered.
"However," she went on, "There is one thing which I need badly, "Will you both give me all your hair? I must have some fairy hair to cast a spell over a princess."
Oh, we couldn't very well spare that" they both szclaimed together and they shouted so loudly that two or three fairies who were passing looked in to enquire what was the
matter.
When they heard what it was all about one of them asked, "But why do you want a Thermos fiask? you would never drink hot tea if you bad it, you would look very guser with no hair."
That is true," agreed Know All who had not thought of that before, After all I don't think I want it o much.
"No nor said Look About, "I am sure that I want my bair more,'

FAIRY UMBRELLAS.
The fairy umbrellas are ever so small, And sometimes you can't even see

Yes. wouldn't it," agreed Look-It About, "I am just longing to have
one.
"If we had one," continued book- About, "We could give a party and rend out invitations saying "Come to and no one our Thermos party would know what it meant, and
everyone would be so excited."
You see neither of the fairies d Been such a thing before though they did not realize that it would not be much use to them. Do you know Why? Because tairies bave never been known to drink anything hot and it you think of the stories that you have read they always drink dew or have cold moonbeam ices or berries

However they had made up their minds that they wanted a Thermos.
