The automobile show extended for three days closed last night. The promoters are satisfied with the re- sults. Many valuable cars were sold to Chinese and foreigners. The ex- hibition was creditable in every respect and it is hoped it will give an impetus to the motor vehicle trade in China.

INTERESTING EVIDENCE I

LOCAL COURT.

The Chinese will case which was begun in the Supreme Court yesterday was continued throughout the day when the plaintiff was led by his counsel (Mr. C. G. Alabaster) to tell the story of his life from childhood up. Describing the ceremonies which took place when, at a tender age, he was taken into the house of his father: he said that his amah led him for- ward and he worshipped the ancestors and "kow-towed." Then his mother, the ninth concubine of his father, came forward and did the same thing. Then they both bowed to his "first. mother," the kit fat wife and his motlier handed her a cup of tea and sonie sweetmeats. Then his "first mother gave them butha packet of lai ste-lucky money tied up in red paper.

I am sure any friendly criticisms would be welcomed, and any faults remedied, as far as possible, should any one care to point then out; bat each non-member should remember, that whilst they are delaying to aasiat, animals are silently suffering, in many instances on their way to be slaught ered in order to provide us with food. I earnestly hope that each animal lover will immediately assist in making the Society a real live organ- ization in this Colony,

Thanking you for your kindness in all.wing me this space.

I remain, sir,

Yours faithfully,
