There is an obvious decline in wholesale prices which will enable our trade to get advantages through- cut the world. The reduction in retail prices has followed very cardily, and if I may make an appeal to the
retail traders, I would sugges: to them that it is in their own interest to face the present situation at once, and, even at certain loss, to take their courage in both hands and bring their prices to such a level as I will enable our markets to buy,
"Once you have created that situa tien I am sure that trade will revive. I look forward to a decline in the price of coal."
