JONAR" ON A PLEASURE TRIP, BODY WELL PRESERVED AFTER
A tale of a girl stowaway who seemed to bring nothing but trouble is being told by passengers who have jast arrived in Londen after a 10,000 roles cruise from New York to Europe via Iceland and the North Cape in the F. & O. steamer "Kaiser- Hind." The girl became known is "Janah," and she was eventually put ashore at Leith to he sent back to the United States.
The "Kaisar Hind," chartered by an American Brm of tourist agents, left New York on June 25 with a party of over 150 well-to-do Americans, After leaving New-foundland four days later the young girl stowaway was found in the steamer. She had apparently stolen abcard in the expec. tation that the vessel would take her to New York.
BOILER FOOM EXPLOSION, "She was kindly treated by the passengers and given clothing," said are of the passengers to a reporter in London bet after she had come aboard things sermed to go wrong; and eventually she got the name of

600 YEARS.
In connection with various festivities on the occasion of the Dante
Centenary an interesting ceremony took place at Verona,
The Jid was taken off the tomb of the Can Grande Della Scala, which is one of the most beautiful of Italy's monuments.
The Can Grande, a famous scldier of fortune of the Middle Ages, died in 1329. His body, which had been embalmed, was found marvellously preserved; even the expression of the face was still noticeable. The body was wrapped in artistic silk draperies with old Verona's banner at his feet. At his side lay a big sword, slightly damaged by rust.
The tomb was opened because of doubts raised whether the body was really there.

Here the captain sent the girl stowaway ashore to be dealt with, and after proceeding to Holland and Belgium the "Kaisar Hind" duly arrived at Tilbury.
"Here the American passengers learnt that the "Mauretania," the ship in which many of them had hoped to return to New York, had been on fire at Southampton and her sailing had been cancelled. Many of them, are still in London waiting to fix up their passages. The girl Jocab' is not a very popular subject with them."
It is authenticated by the Ellenzek which gives an account of the birth of these five children. The mother, whose age was forty-oze, had pre- vicosly had ten children, including
wins,
She was taken ill after getting off a tramcar, and taken to a clinic, where the five births occurred over a period of a fortnight. Three weeks later she left in a healthy condition.

Mr. Louis Lang, editor of the book, was also
