BERLIN TELEPHONES “MADAME BUTTERFLY" TO LONDON,

A notable experiment in wireless telephony was made in Berlin by the Ministry of Posts,

The music of "Madaine Butterfly," which is being performed at the Opera, was sent by wireless all over Germany and to London, Petrograd, and other places.

Microphores placed along the footlights caught up the sound of the voices and orchestra and transmitted it to a wireless station, whence it was spied on its journey.

The Press recalls The Daily Mail's feat of sending by wireless the lovely voice of Melba across the seas last year.

Inquiries in London failed to dis- cover any wireless operator who heard the opera.
