In presenting a programme of four Dunsany plays, the Hongkong Amar- eur Dramatic Club embarked upon an ambitious undertaking. For no matter how much one admires the seil of the writer and the strange variety of his imagination, it must be admitted that the charm of his work is lost unless the stage production is given with the sympathy that can only come from, understanding. Unless this is present, a Dansany play is a disappointment, and because of the oddity of the subject, a dis appointment the memory of which is apt to endure.
