Mr. Tren, whose escape is the more remarkable in view of his proximity to the deceased! Chinese at the time of the explosion, was removed to the French hospital by M. Debois, a representative of the Company. Mr. Tiren is a French subject.
The whole building was shaken by the explosion, and a portion of the
roof and wall collapsed. Some of the machinery was also damaged,
