American corporation. The former name of this syndicate was Henry Hope & Company importers and exporters of Hongkong, says the Caxton Times
The syndicate is being registered. at Hongkong with a capital of $200,000. The officers of the South- China Development Syndicate are Benton C. Byrd, président and general manager; Loring P. Rixford; vice" president and sales manager with office in New York; Kwok E. Shun, vice-president and sale manager; Kwok Sai Cheuk, secretary-treasurer, Soo Lairong, chief accountant and importer manager; Philip L. Kim, mining engineer; and Kwok Kai Hing, export manzger.
The syndicate handles antimony, arsenic, asbestos, bamboo, hismuth, camphor, canes, fibre, fans, fire crackers, manganese, matting, moly. adenite, oils, peanuts, rattan, rice, do, and wolfram,
The syndicate has done most in minerals. In the last six months more than half a million dollars business was done in manganese alone.
