NEW YORK. Now. 15. "I have been listening for the past three days to praises of the Prince of Wales sung by all sorts and conditions of men whom he has met during his stay in Washington.

What has impressed me most has been the obvious sincerity of his ad- mirers, whether they are wounded soldiers with whom he conversed at the hospitals, journalists with whom he spent a jolly evening at the Press Club, or society matrons and debut- .
The attractive. thing about the Prince," a veteran diplomat of served to me at one of the receptions. is that he is so entirely natural.*
This quality of naturalness he has manifested on several occasions, but at no time more amusingly than a a dance given last night. "Certainly." was the reply.
The Prince thereupon selected the prenest girl in the room. and" cut in triumphantly. He continued his cam- paign of cutting in throughout the rest of the evening and danced every round of every dance.
When receiving a body of news- paper representatives on his arrival Washington one of the audience boldly asked the Prince if he was receiving as many letters from fair admirers in America, as he did in Canada. The Prince turned an in- quiting, eye on one of his aides, whe observed that a few score of such episdes were arriving daily.
One of these epistles came from a Virginian girl who expressed a keen desire to have the honour of meeting! the Prince. adding that she intended to stand with the British flag in her hand at the corner of the road leading to the entrance of George Washing- ron's country home at Mount Vernon. The newspapers "to-day describe with much gusto how the Prince yesterday hahed his motor-car outside Mount Vernon, and, after alighting. ap- proached an extraordinarily pretty girl who was waving the British Bag. 1 and good humouredly bantered her upon her letter.
