An estäte had just been purchased by his company near London. which, by reason of its elevation, was guaranted free from fog, at a cost of £40,000, and it was proposed to erect new studios, which would quadruple their production of films. He anticipated that the difficulties hitherto experienced of placing British productions on the American market would be gradually overcome,
Colonel H. A. Browne, of the Waldurdaw Company, expressed his confidence that during the next few years the world would acknowledge that the best films were made in this country. At the present time many thousands of pounds were going out of the United Kingdom in payment of negative rights to foreign coun tries, and it was, therefore, on patriotic as well as economic grounds that the production and exportation of the home article should be encouraged!
