LONDON, September 19th. Most of the newspapers, continue to emphasise the need to clear up the Rua- sian situation, in which connection the recent official and semi-ofioïal announce- ments from London, Paris and Washing ton are confusing.

The Daily

correspondent at Washington sends a digest of Mr. Bullita'e evidence. Mr. Bullitt declared that Mr. Lloyd George, addressing the Council of Ten in January, 1918, decried the iden mades. He admitted that Admiral of militarily crushing Bolshevism as

CONFLICTING REPORTS.

LONDON, September 21.

The latest news from Russia is conflicting. It is reported from Petrograd that the Soviet Government has resolved to enter into peace pegotiations with the Entente on the basis laid down, by the latter.

On the other band it is stated that Trotzky has informed the Soviet that several of the Bashkirian divisions will shortly reinforce the garrison at Petrograd and the troops on the North West Front.

The Prince of Wales arrived after a magnificent journey across the Rockies. A message from the Armenian Parliament appeals to, the Parliaments of the Entente to prevent the annihilation of Armenia by hordes of Turks, Kurds and Tartars hended by Turkish regular officers who are invading Armenia and massacring the inhabitants, encouraged, by, the, inaction of the Powers. The whole of the Armenian manhood has been mobilised to save the country but the fight is an unequal one. Armenia abandoned, Inadequately armed and munitioned must perish.....
