ALLEGED FORGERY OF A MORTAGÉ.
Allegation of aiding another to procure someone to forge an in- denture of mortgage dated Jaine 19, 1918, and disposing of some with guilty, knowledge with intent to defraud a Chinese, was preferred against a woman this morning.
Mr. E. Davidson represented com plainant, and Mr. E. L. Shenton appeared for defendant. Mr. Shenton asked the Magistrate for a reduction. of bail, already fixed at $2,500.
Interposing Mr. Davidson asked for an increase of bail on the ground ot its being a serious
case
Prima facie, continued Mr, Davidson, the case is a very strong one, and -sure to be brought before the Supreme Court in due course. There should be insurance against defend- pant's running away. Bail was fixed at $2,500 to be effected in two ecurities for $1,000 and $500 in -cash, and the case remanded till May
15.
