The net profit for the year, after making full provision for deprecia tion, and for war tax of $23.994.30, amounted to $160,347.58 to which has to be added $74,765.20 brought forward from last account, making a total of $235,112.78. Your directors recommend that this sum be appro printed in the following manner:——— Transfer to investment reserve az- count $75,000, in payment of a toaus to the staff $5,000, a dividend. of 10 per cent. free of war tax $100.00,carried forward to next ac count $55,112.78.

The total output for the year was 461,155 lbs., against the manager's estimate of 590,000 lbs. The short ake on the estimate is mainly due to voluntary restriction.
