The death has taken place at: Jafra of the Right Rev. Dr. Henry Joulain, 0.M.I., Bishop of Jaffna. His Lordship had been in poor health for some time, and had received treatment at the General Hospital. He returned to Jaffna about a month' ago, but fell again and never re- gained health. The late Bishop was born in France on September 24, 1852, and after his early education, entered the Seminary of Mont Mari- lon, and later the Seminary of St. Poitiers,, where he studied under the famous prelate Monsignor de Segur.
