NEW FRENCH AIR ENGINE.

Paris reports that Doctor Rateau has invented a new aeroplane engine, based on the principle of the turbine. It is designed to produce 30,000 re- volutions a minute, enabling, far greater altitudes to be attained. It is expected that flights from Paris to Algiers can be done in five hours, to Constantinople in eight, and to Cairo in eleven hours.
