It would take the place of the Orient line when the present contract was finished The Minister of Repatriation saki this proposal was one of the subjects which would be considered by the Government during the recess. Senater Gardiner (N.S.W.) suggested that in view of the fact that the Commonwealth steamers had already paid for themselves, a reduction in freights on Australian wheat. 'should be made to a figure which would merely COVET expenses, Senator Millen quoted figures to show that HONGKONG & SOUTH CHINA COAF?" PORT SERVICE.
