·ST Andrews War Bond Tickets
The picture merely re- presents what we should like to see during these last days of the sale of St. Andrew's Society War Bond Tickets. FIVE DOLLARS might bring you TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND. It's a chance of a life time, and probably the last chance of the kind that Hongkong will offer. Half per cent goes to War Charities; "the rest after paying expenses, goes to you If you are not lucky. well, you will, hare if you are one of the lucky ones.

JAPAN-CHINA TRADE.
The Japan-China trade still maintains its tread in favour of China, according to returns "pablished by the Japanese Finance Department on December 11. for the, closing ten days of November. In exports a big decrease is scored while imports from China are much bigger, thus there ensues a somewhat big bal anco in favor of imports on China.
The exports of the last ten days of last month were valued at Yen 13,311,000- This declining tendency in exporta from Japan to Chica has been only recently eridenced as the result of China's own had condition cerisioned by the long struggle between the North and the South, and Japan's maint mance of high prices for all commodities Chins is buy- ing. Now this adve se tendency is sug mented further by the precariousness of business conditions in Japan, which, is causing Chinese to be cautious and to wait. Only in shipments to Manchuria is a alight increase recorded as shown below; d.

In imports & big increase of Yen 10,102,000 is recorded, the total alge being Yen 14 989,000 Largely this big gain in favour of China; has occurred on account of Japan's purchase of raw, materials in the Yangtze provinces to make good the abortage in materials ás occasioned by the reckless encourage- ment of exports under the. guidance of the Government, and also of the ombar- goes proclaimed by the different coun tries in the West. The following table gives particulars

It is quite noteworthy that Chine and Amul ca, Japan's two biggest buyurs, have turned sellers now on account of the Japanese Ücrorument snow agout of the export trade and the accumulation of bullion.
