Reports are coming back to America. from London that Free Trade advocates are spreading a fable attributing resant ment to the United States because of the possibility that Great Britain will adopt a protective tariff after the war.. Nothing is further from the thoughts of Americans than a desire to interfere in the slightest degree with the fiscal systems of other countries. "America will not be a Free Trade nation after the war, and Americas will not pat Eemselves in the ridictious position of eeking to influence fundamental tariff Legislation in other countries.
