Mr. R. The ladies, as usual, bad played an important part in the racing of the Club boats. Owing to a happy combination of direnmstances and hrough the generosity of saveral Hong- Tong gentlemen, they were able to entertain a number of men from H.M.'s Army and Navy that afternoon. "Mr. Sutherland referred to the debt of gratitude which all owed to Mrs. Gurnat för having so kindly consented to distribute the Awards to the winners in the various Grants.

Commédora, Gurder, in returning thanks on behalf of Mr. Gurner, thanked Mr. Sutherland and the mem- bers of the committee, and the gentlemen who so kindly gave prizes for the naval events. A Fegatta was a thing which they didepot bare very often, and the men were all very grateful."
