The earthquake felt in the Colony on Wednesday had its centre further up the const whence the reports yet to hand go to show that it has taken the form of a great disaster.
Unfortunately at Swarow something
in the nature of a cataclysm occurred in that city on Wednesday last. Our informant states that practically every house in the native quarter of the town is demolished and the European quarter has also suffered suficiently badly as to probably render it necessary to rebuild most if not all the houses.
