B., M. Afinister, Sir John John, who bus recently feturned to Peking. Present also were umeras high Chinese officials and representatives from all the various branches ut the British Community. Interest was acted to this sovint fune tion by the facs that this was the first meeting of the anglo Chinese Friendship Burow since China's declaration of war pn. Gernasty and Austrin.
The absence of Mr. Wang Ta-hsieh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was greatly regretted but his post na Chairman was admirably filled by His Excellency Cheng-hsiang. Chairman of the War Commission.
